Like the strands of the braided rivers that flow through Canterbury, our individual teaching journeys may take many twists and turns, and we acknowledge the many ways in which our students, teachers and schools get to their destination. We recognise that we all move in the same direction, arriving, like the river, at the same place, the empowerment and encouragement of teachers, and through them, our rangatahi.
We recognise that the land on which we do our work was originally inhabited by the Waitaha, and now Ngāi Tahu, and we honour their strands in our braided river too.
