NCEA Literacy and Numeracy co-requisites- collated community resources

Please find a number of the useful resources that our presenters referred to at the AGM on the 21/6/2022.

We’d like to thank our presenters, in particular Valerie Eves (St Andrew’s College) and Vicki Teesdale (Christchurch Girls’ High School) for their thoughtful and inspiring mahi in bringing literacy (and numeracy) alive in their schools.

The team over on the TKI Literacy Listserv, led by Bex Roberts of Papanui High School, have developed some communal resources that Valerie and Laura mentioned last night.

There is a HUGE table mapping the skills required to literacy strategies to support teaching that has been added to by a number of teachers. You can find it here. It might be useful in conjunction with the Effective Literacy Strategies book.

There is an unpacking of the Literacy co-requisite here.

There is a list of literacy skills needed by department here.
