Shelfie #3
Share your shelfies with us. What are you reading and enjoying during lockdown? We hope it’s not just marking, and we’d love to see what is sitting on your shelf, or that massive pile beside your bed. We know you have one…!
WE Committee secretary, Chris:
I have always, like always, been an avid reader of fantasy and sci fi. To the point where I’d pretend I was a unicorn and gallop around our front lawn, “eating” grass. And because I was bossy (I was the eldest of a tribe of siblings and cousins who happened to be mostly male), my Nana told me I was made to be a teacher. And so I am. Then I married a civil engineer. One of the brick of books on his bookshelf is entitled “Concrete”. I am still laughing at the fact that there can be a 1000+ page book written about CONCRETE. But then we had sons. Sons who studied and excelled at Maths and Physics. Not my usual cup of tea. So, one of my delights and challenges in recent years is being handed books like this from my whanau that completely blow my mind.
